Key KBS Ltd deliverables: Project Management of new build leisure centre development and procurement of new leisure operating partner for the district wide leisure centres.

Project Narrative:

We are carrying out specialist project management services supporting the executive team of Ashfield District Council in the development phase of the new £16.0m Kirkby In Ashfield leisure centre development. This will be built on the site of an existing facility and will bring modern and attractive leisure facilities to the town.

We are leading the design process with external consultants and involvement from Sport England. We are managing the financial appraisals and will be responsible for seeing the leisure centre commence onsite during late 2020.

Additionally, we are overseeing the retendering of the leisure centre operator contract. Currently outsourced to a third party, the council are leading on a project to partner with a suitable supplier over the longer term for leisure provisions within Kirkby, Sutton and Hucknall. We are leading on the negotiations whilst also ensuring detailed and effective stakeholder engagement is completed.
