Project Narrative:

Wicksteed Park has been successful in being granted HLF Development Round funding to develop its @Play Project which will see the heart of the historic park reinvigorated and opened to the public.

Wicksteed Park is a privately-owned park originally opened and founded by Charles Wicksteed, an Engineer by profession, but entrepreneur and inventor by desire.

The project will bring back into use the original 1920’s belvedere structure into a multi-functional learning and commercial space. The historic 1920’s Rose Garden will be reimagined with new Rose Towers and period planting. The original Water Fountain and Italian statues will be rebuilt and historical play equipment originally developed by Charles will be brought back into use.

Our role includes the development of the project from initial concept stage, the procurement of all consultants and advisors and the submission to the HLF for further Delivery Round funding.

Originally due to submit the Delivery Round funding bid in May 2019, this has been brought forward by the HLF due to the progress of the project and the application will now be submitted in February 2019.
